When you choose to be yourself, you make the decision to be free. You choose to be yourself and nothing else.
My Perspectives
When I had my fathers last name, I was entitled to his expectations, desires, and beliefs. When I took on my husbands last name, I believed I was entitled to please him. I tried doing so according to his desires, needs, wants, and interests” as a women and as a wife. I wanted to be faithful, loyal, and be one with his beliefs.
There’s nothing wrong with that. However, someway along the line between my youth, settling into marriage, adulthood, and having a family of my own I lost myself. I forgot simple things like what I personal enjoyed doing. How to love myself. How to take care of myself, and yes, there were times where I didn’t value myself.
I was spiraling downward physically, mentally, socially, and spiritually. I believe I was waking up each day moving along with time verses utilizing my time. At a time, the needs of my family were more important. I didn’t balance well, I wasn’t good at choosing myself.
From a young child early on, I was always defining and shaping myself. I was doing so minimizing myself, being inconsiderate to myself in truthful and respectful ways. I didn’t know what to believe and I was constantly conforming to the standards and expectations of society, others, or things.
I followed standards or beliefs common to many. There were many times I thought I knew what was right for me. I did many things just to fit in, I was vulnerable. But after learning, experiencing, and understanding truth for my own. I began choosing me, choosing my own beliefs, my own desires, my own intentions, simply myself.
I am always learning, that will be ongoing. I truly enjoy gaining understanding. The process of educating myself, growing, maturing, and developing into my own understanding as to the meaning of what life should be, wasn’t easy. I am now living to be who I am, living intentionally, and with purpose.
Just Kadia is my way of simply me being myself. There’s no attachments, no requirements, no expectations, and no standards to live up to or to live by. Just me being ok with myself, my personal beliefs, principles, values, and etc.
Just me being me for who I am and what I want, with what I love. Me being understanding, considerate for mankind, animals, the earth, love, kindness, and all in goodwill and contentment that brings us beauty and endless opportunities.
This time it’s me w/ my life experiences. This is me, my journey in all the things self development and oneness related.
Your Perspectives
What about you? Are you enjoying your life? Are you living your fullest and higher self? Are you living fulfilling your dreams, potentials, gifts, talents, or abilities? Whatever it is. Maybe this is your time to choose?
Maybe you’re experiencing some of the things I’ve mentioned above. Maybe it could be something completely different. Maybe it could be something that you hold onto. Maybe it has prevented you from living your best life.
If you are, my desire is that you are living and breathing to feel life and fulfill it for a reason. It is perfectly ok to discover and find out or figure out who you are. It is ok if what this means to you isn’t clear or noticeable yet either?!?!
Maybe becoming aware of wanting and desiring this discovery is where you need to be at this time right here right now. Reading this could be meant for you to become aware and begin learning, seeking, and discovering a journey for you to embrace.
Please understand this, I’m not suggesting for you to make drastic decisions, especially doing so without thought. That is something entitled and entirely all up to you. But maybe, landing here on this post was intentional by divine rights from the universe, God, etc.
My desires is that you become aware of yourself, become aware of life’s value and allow it to be fulfilled. Here’s a post I wrote A Letter of Encouragement if you’re feeling like you don’t know where to start.
As I said before. Many of us grow up and living by the demands, standards, expectations, uncertainty, etc of others. We become attached to certain beliefs, our past, opinions, and believe it or not we also become attached and are controlled by our environments, religions, school, careers, materials, and even by society.
These are all barriers that can be broken if you choose. You can heal and change your life for the better. You don’t have to feel pressure. Check out my post 8 Things You Can Do to Change Your Life in 2022. You’ll find some really helpful ways of things I have done that has tremendously sky rocketed my life. What I have learned still learning is this. You are the one in control of your earthly experience of this time space and reality. You are fortunate to have this one time, one chance, and one opportunity.
All these things may and can take some time to learn and get use to. The good thing is you can begin making minimal steps right now. If you’ve been stuck for years living in the past of the same lifestyle over and over again, not growing, not evolving, not developing then maybe this is time for you to begin right now. Doing so taking small steps.
You will be surprised to see how much you can grow, how much you can change, and how much you can develop for the better. With a little patience and a whole lot of hope. I believe you will know when it’s the right time for you to choose yourself and be free.

Hi Kadia! This is Whitter!
You had commented on my ‘This is Me’ post yesterday and I wanted to return the favor. First of all; great post. In a world we’re society, family, and personal expectations can weight u down and crush u, being reminded that it’s ok to be yourself and do what makes u happy couldn’t be more important. I’m so happy to c u doing just that and I hope u continue to have nothing but success! I can’t wait to read more of your work! Very relatable as well!
